Italy's No Vaxers with members of far right groups protested in Rome in October of 2021, attacking the headquarters of the country's national trade union, CGIL. They then attempted to reach the prime minister's office before being pushed back. Italy's long history of social activism sprung into action. A week later, more than 50,000 people gathered in Piazza Giovanni to demonstrate against fascism and for democracy. These images were taken at that event. The air was infused with determination, solidarity, and joyousness at the sense of a shared culture and purpose.
